Tips for applying mascara to your new eyelashes

A dab of eyeliner and a touch of mascara are beautiful makeup additions on the lower lashes to create a more balanced appearance for an otherwise top heavy look with longer and thicker extension lengths and widths. It is never advised to use waterproof mascara or other makeup as they absolutely destroy the eyelashes making them brittle and very short. As mentioned in a previous blog entry, it is possible to apply lower eyelash extensions, however, because this process requires the eye to be open, a special, fume free ‘sensitive eye’ formula of adhesive must be used which has a very short duration, maybe a week tops. In so being, most clients feel that the time, expense and relative discomfort in getting bottom lid eyelash extensions simply isn’t worth it. (more…)

Even though it is possible to place lash extensions on the bottom lashes, most clients feel it is not worth the time and expense involved when considering the fact that an entirely different adhesive, with a MUCH shorter durability is required for the process. Because the eye must remain open during application of lower eyelid lash extensions we can not use the same adhesive as the upper lashes. The adhesive used for upper eyelashes is extremely strong and full of fumes which make it impossible to keep the eye open, despite the strongest of wills and tolerance to discomfort, the eye will simply shut as a reflex response to exposure to the fumes. The only adhesive formula that has been successfully used for lower eyelash extensions is the relatively fume-free, ‘Sensitive Eye’ formula, by Novalash. (more…)

Lash Extensions are prettier, more affordable, and even safer than results obtained by prescription lash growth serums like Latisse. Latisse, not only causes numerous, undesirable, adverse side effects- but the results are weak, unpredictable and homely when compared to those of properly applied, professional grade eyelash extensions.
